The Will of God

Church,

As I’ve begun preparing for Sunday’s message, I’ve been taken aback by the words of 1 John 2:17, especially. “The world is passing away, along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”

For all of the allure of the things that would divide our attention and reframe our minds away from God and his holy law, throughout the week, these things are fleeting. They have an expiration date and are swiftly approaching it.

Accordingly, my prayer for us as a church family this week is that we would focus our eyes on Jesus. In the midst of our work, may our minds be enthralled by eternal things. In the midst of our time with family and friends, may our speech be filled with his love. In the midst of our alone time, may the quietness give way to prayer and praise of his goodness toward us in Christ.

Know that you are loved. I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday, and even several of you before then!

Grace and Peace,

Rich
